Thanks to your expert opinion I now know what scoobert did wrong, but
nothing at all about how you manage to get "one or two...boat bites...each trip" Care to share a specific "bite", or two.

Stub your toe on the block for the headsheet.

Scratch yourself on any number of things.

Don't put your gloves and get a rope burn.

Lose your footing and sprain an ankle.

Bump your arm on the cabintop and get a bruise.

I went to the doctor's once for something else and he saw finger-sized bruises on my arm. He was sure I was in an abusive relationship bout wouldn't admit it. Actually someone had thought I was going to fall and grabbed my arm.

You can scratch or cut all sorts of spots climbing out on the boom after running aground (I didn't do that but someone else did).

I'm more concerned about the bigger things -- a newbie getting her ankle caught on the anchor rode, for instance. The little "boat bites" are just part of life.

That does not sound like fun. How does one come in contact with pseudomonas water bacteria? Hope the medical bills are not driven by the number of letter in the disease.

I would trade a couple of scars (small ) from a sail instead of the ones from doing yard work that I have now.

No boat & no sailing lately.

Reading can be dangerous. A friend of my wife fell asleep reading a book while on the toilet. She fell off and became stuck between the wall and the toilet. Paramedics had to be called in for the extraction.

They're saying that we're going to have mosquitoes here this summer big enough to carry off small children. And, these critters come out continuously day and night, AND laugh in the face of DEET -- they're just too big to have that deter them.

Apparently their bite really hurts but they're so big you feel them landing on you. Only silver lining is that they don't carry diseases.

We recently completed the Marion to Bermuda race and return to New England. We had one simple goal for the crew, to not use one band aid on the trip. We were fortunate enough to leave the medical kit untouched and the crew injury free.

Now if we could only achieve a similar goal for sea sickness...

Twas cooking I have forgot what, and a hot as hell something or the other
popped out, land on my foot. I did the worlds greatest dance, and invented
at least a half dozen new cuss words. I have no doubt it would have went viral
on utube.
