Re: Who Still Practices Celestial Navigation ?

Took my CN course as part of sitting for my Mates ticket for Coastal Inand Waters in Vancouver, BC back in the early '60s. I still remember my first noon site attempt with my brandy new plastic sextant standing on the beach in English Bay and after noodling for what seemed like hours over reduction tables and sheets of figuring, confidently came up with my position which was about 500 miles north of Thunder Bay , Ontario! Learning curve was pretty flat! Talk about a humbling experience... Capt Phil
