Chartworld is primarily a reseller - they have no
charts of their own.
They sell charts substantially from two sources:
1. Official
ENC charts as produced by various hydrographic agencies (NOAA, UKHO etc etc)
2. Converted
Navionics charts. These are charts that take
Navionics data and convert it into S63 format, compatible with various
software (including ours).
I am guessing you mean chart 1I03009. This is a Navionics S63 chart. Navionics S63 charts are generally not quite as feature-rich as official S63 charts. This may be part of the problem.
The other part of the issue is "non-standard" encoding, particularly as used for text labels in these charts. Some products support it (including PolarView) while others do not. If you use these charts with a product that does not support these "non-standard" tags, you are likely to find a lot of missing land and
water feature labels.
I think ChartWorld was planning to move away from the non-standard labels but this hasn't happened yet (and I am not sure how they could, given that this is a difference in principle between Navionics data encoding and S57 encoding).
So, it may be that using different
software would make land annotations re-appear. Or it may be that it won't and that's just what is in those charts.
