Vesper is a fantastic company that makes excellent products.

I've had 2.. First was a Watchmate Vision that I LOVED. Unfortunately a direct lightening strike killed it.

I replaced it with an XB-6000 due to budget. Still same great quality.

I wouldn't hesitate to purchase anything from them.

Re: Vesper AIS watchmate

I've had the Watchmate Vision for almost 3 years, installed before my delivery trip from Florida to Maryland. Easy install - 12 volts and a dedicated VHF antenna or their powered splitter and NMEA optional. There have been ~4 system software upgrades since purchase, all easily installed and significant improvements. I have mine inside out of the weather, but the Watchmate app connected to the Vision through its own wifi signal is available on mobile devices anywhere on the boat. It's an excellent system that I wouldn't go without offshore, in harbor/bay traffic, or at anchor.

I have a XB8000, installed over a year ago. Also purchased the Vesper splitter, AIS antenna. as a benefit, i also use the splitter to provide AM/FM feed. High quality kit, continuous 'over the air' software updates. Bought from Miltech and satisfied with after sales support.

Search a little, you'll find lots of references on this forum (and others) about Vesper gear.

What you won't find is any complaints.

'Nuff said.

(Happy XB-8000 owner here.)

Ditto, except bought mine from Defender and it was all plug and play so didn't need followup support. XB8000; splutter and antenna. Exceptional equipment. Will put identical system in on new boat.

Re: Vesper AIS watchmate

We are on our second one. We changed up to the transmitting watchmate when approved by uscg. Simply awesome and very easy to install. As an added bonus has a great anchor watch program as well.

One of the top 10 products we have purchased for Jacaranda

Cheers

Chuck
