Stop farting around with none OEM solutions that will let you down and can't be replaced in out of the way places.
Another +1 for Joe...
I have several different devices and cordless tools that charge via 110v inverter. Thanks to solar, the loss in DC/AC/DC conversion is insignificant.

Re: Using a laptop on board on DC power

I haven't got a laptop on the boat but an Asus (vivo mini) small PC, like the Intel NUC but smaller and cheaper. It requires 19 Volt.
My solution was one of these.
https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/1200W-20...53.m2749.l2648
Output Voltage can be completely adjusted form 8 to 60 Volt.
Is hardwired in, has worked faultlessly for nearly a year, always switched on, but just in case, bought a few of them

Monitor is a 12 Volt unit, directly from batteries, initially I thought making a 12 Volt steady regulator for that, but as I have noticed, runs fine from 11 to 15.5 Volt, I might not make such regulator now. Yes, I know these 11 and 15 V Voltages are not good for the batteries and they were exceptions.
