pirate Turning a corner...???

Well... this should be fun...
For those who don't know me I'm one of those dinasoaurs who was dragged kicking and screaming to buy a H/H GPS in '95.... and its all I.ve used since... with my paper charts...
Now I'm dipping my toe into more challenging waters...
on a recent delivery the owner had a whosit that plugged into his laptop and with the use of CM93 charts and some program called OpenSeaPM had an instant CP..... cool I thought... 40euro for a CP's a lot more viable than the 400+ for a basic Garmin... I can do that...
So I'm sitting waiting for my 'Whosit' from China.... then see how it goes...
Will I go..."Ahhh Sod it...!!" and revert to my H/H or.... will I have the capacity to cope with more info in the bulging 'Hard Drive' between my ears....

Re: Turning a corner...???

Hey BM61, you are letting the side down. Now I will will upgrade to something more modern than my early 90's aviation instrument panel style GPS.

More money... bigger learning curve.... less sailing.

I expect your existing harddrive will cope

I hope you got the version with the Pencil holder - otherwise it will be out of date before you open the box.
