Sounds like I nice place from what I have read

For my first stop I was thinking about anchoring in Kona. Where is the best place to Anchor at? Or would you go someplace else in Hawaii.

Or maybe Lahaina Maui?

I was reading about:“ Jennifer “ she has gone everywhere! All the cannels, up and down the Rhine.

excellent. our revolution was over tea, which I'm told goes great with pasties.

it all had something to do with boats as well, I'm told, boats in a harbor.

Just navigating your way through the maze of unbending bureaucracies, on those water ways is a miracle to me. Maybe it’s easy? I would plan it out to the last detail and still get it wrong -- I bet. LOL. Lars has my respect.

Atoll you do say Hilo? because the stores are within walking distance? And Fuel is right there

i belive you can still anchor in hilo, though for a quick stop the marina in kona might be a better bet,a bit out of town but car hire is reasonable from the nearby airport.

don't worry about red tape it is a lot easier than it would seem.
a valid passport, yacht registration, and a clearance from your last port are all you really need in the pacific.
and maybe 3rd party insurance for marinas in hawaii.

I'm not leaving right now Atoll. I don't know if I can leave before the window before typhoon season. Hopefully I can!

it would be a good idea to have a couple of spare lenths of 12-14mm(40mx 2) yachtbraid line to make up new mast halyards which often get chafed through on long downwind passages if care is not taken.

also 3x 10m x12mm for rigging your spinnaker pole and a preventer on the boom.

2 x 50m lenths of 18mm 3strand nylon/polyester line for trailing behind the yacht in storm conditions,or tying to the mangroves/stern too to the dock/towing /spare anchor line /etc.

3-4 mm nylon line is good for lashing/fishing leader line etc buy lots

dont use polypropelyne line as it slips and gets quickly uv damaged by the sun.

Hey Atoll, I'm new here. Can you teach me how to sail across the Pacific? I only want to go San Francisco to Hawaii. Should be a cinch.
