Re: Sausalito to the Gulf of Thailand

Hey Atoll, what is the best setup for the dinghy, Honda Motor and a Zodiac? As far as power goes, what is the best setup?

Should I tow it behind me

Thanks Atoll

Re: Sausalito to the Gulf of Thailand

rib type dingy on the fore deck works for me with a 15hp, i would only tow a dingy in sheltered waters, never at sea
.
we had a walker bay 8" ft rowing dingy on the last trip that was adequet, but a 2hp motor would have made getting ashore easier.

solar panels, wind generator are best, but a small petrol generator also works if it has a battery charging option @ 8-10 amps

Atoll, what are the day to day activities on the boat as you are going along?
What are the conditions (out there) like most of the time?
What are good techniques to use for navigation? Wind Vein or Auto Pilot?
What things do you check for on a regular bases?
What is a good supply list? Food, Water ect
Thanks Atoll !

Re: Sausalito to the Gulf of Thailand

CALF to TH, this may have been mentioned before, but when you decide where on deck you tie your dingy, remember to not block the forward hatch. Onboard fires are rare but you want a second way out of the cabin if one happens. 2 cents worth.____Grant.

Republic! As in "peoples republic?" I've heard of it referred to as a "duchy", or even as a "Celtic Nation," but never as a "republic."

Is this something new?

we had a rebellion recently over the "cornish pastie tax" and declared ourselves as a republic from the "duchy"
