I was somehow misreading the database. There are actually 70 boats in the regatta split over 9 classes.

The leading boat at 09:42 14 Oct. is SESSENTAO

We were there for the start ,what a great day! wind switched around to the south east which was good as it had been more east the last few days . We were anchored beside Sessentao as they could not get into Cabanga due to there draught what a beautiful yacht. There have been a few casualties .One boken mast on a cat ,one broken rudder on a dragon fly trimaran ,failed rudder on a cat and a non start with engine problems.

Sessentao and Ave Rara were the two first arrivals at the anchorage,the last arriving at 22:30.

Another 61 boats will follow during the night and tomorrow.

The anchorage is starting to fill up at Fernando de Norhona this morning.

Here are the results so far,most of the boats are still under way.

I must say I am somewhat surprised to find that only a fraction of the regatta participants switched on their SPOT´s during the race,in spite of the fact that the rules of the regatta stated that anyone switching off their SPOT´s would be disqualified. Ah well,that´s Brazil for you!!
