Pilot Plug and Laptop

Hello to everybody, i have a question about the connection AIS and laptop. i bought recently pilot plug cable and the softwares Navi sailor 3000 / Nobeltech / and Max sea. despite my efforts to transfer the targets to my laptot from my AIS(JOTRON TR-2500) VIA pilot plug i cannot view targets. What is going wrong. i set the speed 38400 both at AIS and laptop. What really happens? is anybody know to help me..

Look under device mamager and see what port is being used for the AIS. Set the device manually in MaxSea. I have had difficulty with MaxSea identifying the port automatically - even with the Time Zero version. Widows is also finically about USB to Serial connectors - Edgeport or other devises using the TI chip work.
