PC/laptop as multifunction display?

I am looking to add radar/ais/fishfinder and such to my boat. I am already using a laptop for nav with opencpn.is it possible to use my laptop as the multifunction display or will i have to add the seperate display unit?

OpenCPN does radar - Garmin or Navico (Lowrance/Simrad/B&G). OCPN does depth, but no fishfinder at this point. There are some PC based ones out there though... Google is your friend!
