Unhappy opencpn charts rotating?

G'day all.
Opencpn chart plotting program is playing up.
Chart is losing it's North up orientation and randomly rotating on the Laptop screen and the text becomes a bit fuzzy. This is very frustrating when trying to work with the program. Any suggestions out there?
Regards,
John, S.V.Amber, Australia

Re: opencpn charts rotating?

Dumb question - Have you selected north up as your chart orientation?

Re: opencpn charts rotating?

Yes have checked that box/ North up, always has been!
I'm thinking the program has been corrupted and should probably re-load it afresh.
cheers
John

A re-install cannot hurt.

I suggest that you consider moving this thread over to the opencpn sub-forum.

What you are describing is typical for "Course Up Mode".
It's not just a question to check the box in the Options->Display tabs.
You can change the setting from the right-click menu as well.
Right-click on the chart and check the displayed menu.
If you find the sentence "Course Up Mode", you are in the "North Up Mode".
If you find the sentence "North Up Mode", you are in the "Course Up Mode", and should click the "North Up Mode" entry in the menu.

Re: opencpn charts rotating?

Thanks for this Tom, have applied your adjustments and all good, I thought I had all the boxes checked that were applicable but not the right click options. I have also upgraded from 2.5.0 to 3.2.2 which is a nice change!
Cheers,
John.
