Nokia N8 Navigation Program ?

Can anyone recommend a navigation program that works well on a Nokia N8?

I want to navigate coastal waters of South Africa.

This is for back up purposes.

Re: Nokia N8 Navigation Program ?

That phone uses the Symbian operating system. Marine applications are far and few between.

A Google search on "symbian marine navigation" only brought up Fugawi PathAway. Looks like it is about $60.

From the posts I see, people are saying that Symbian is being phased out by Nokia (and everyone else who uses it). So, I would not expect to see any new software come out for it.

Maybe,just maybe...
...you might check out MapNav..I don't have a symbian phone-but I've been using it for years on an older J2ME phone with an internal gps....and it works on many Nokias newer than mine too.....there's a learning curve but the forum was pretty helpful.

mostly is in Russian, but there's help in English too-click the U.S.flag.
You can get your raster charts into the phone using the supplied application that can convert Ozi "map" files (if you have OziNav)and also Google earth and more online.

also GeoTiff...
