New Orleans locks and bridges

Is there a single place that lists the names of the Bridges and locks for New Orleans. Why don't they Name them on the charts?
Just made a trip from Pensacola via the ICW, used NOAA charts and Southernwaterways 2013 guide but the actual hailing names are not clear.
For instance coming from lake Pontatrain the hi way bridge is Senator some thing bridge not Leon c simon. The port of New Orleans web site only show the railroad bridge calling it Seabrook.
The locks answer to Industrial yet are named New Orleans navigation canal locks on the name posts.
Also the bridges I contacted were on channel 13
Vts on 12 and apparently some bridges are 14? Where will I find this listed?
Many thank

Regards
Paul

Re: New Orleans locks and bridges

They change the names on some if the bridges also...I was calling almonaster bridge for 45 minutes before a tug boater told me they changed the name. When I said it correctly they opened it up... I hate that place with a passion, grew up there and don't miss it.

Re: New Orleans locks and bridges

I had a similar issue in March when I brought my boat home from Madeville, LA to Florida. Different names depending on what chart you were looking at.

Recently I made a trip down the ICW to Boca Grande and wound up using google maps on my ipad to get the correct names or to just hail "the 82nd street bridge..."
