New Boat Owner Research

Hi there folks, I just bought a 35' boat and am going to be traveling from Ft Myers to Key Largo in it in 2 weeks. I was in the navy 30 years ago, but I don't have a clue as to how to navigate this trip. Is there a web site or service that will contain all the information an old greenhorn needs? I really don't know anyone that does this kind of thing. Thanks! Arno

Re: new boat owner research

Check out active captain. Click on the cruising (?) link top left. Good info there, user reviews, anchorages, marinas, fuel etc. Then maybe get a copy of Intracoastal Waterway Guide (moeller) or something like that. (assuming they cover that area, check marina stores) Someone else might have better info for that side......

I would suspect that there are enough "old salts" at the city Marina that have done it enough times to give you good advise. Ask around most of us would talk the ears off a hobby horse when it comes to sailing.
All the best
