Navionics verses C-Map

I asked my B&G dealer for the Navionics chart for the indian ocean soith africa area. I have the asia indian ocean already and has worked great!
But he brought me the C-Map and downloaded it. Said that is what his office sells.

I was wondering if anyone has any experience with the C-Map elctronic charts?

Re: Navionics verses C-Map

I’ve been using C-Map for the US East Coast and the Bahamas. They’ve been spot on.

Re: Navionics verses C-Map

I’ve used C-Map Max charts on the Mississippi, Illinois rivers, Lakes Michigan and Huron. Never any problems at all.

Re: Navionics verses C-Map

I really think you are asking an "Apple vs Intel" question... I have access to both on our boat and they are both great most of the time. Yes there are times when one is better than the other (i.e. Bahamas and Turks and Caicos USE C-MAP). Everywhere else they are very comparable. Just my opinion.

Re: Navionics verses C-Map

C-Map has been very good across the S Pacific including in areas where others were complaining of poor echart quality with other vendors.
