Navionics charts, is it worth an update?

Hello!

I purchased a used raymarine es75 that came bundled with Navionics+ charts (large - north america coverage)

The maps dates back to 2015. I can update it paying a fee of 99$ trough navionics. Now, I only sail on lake champlain, and provably will for a while still.

Do you think its worth updating the maps? Usually it should not change much..

I personally have difficulty to resist to updates... but you are correct specially if you already know the area well...

Yeah I know my usual spots, and I have a hummingbird GPS/sonar on my rib that I use for recon, I guess I'll resist the urge to update for the moment hehe

I asked about updating my Garmin Chartplotter at the store where I purchased it. They said they do not recommend an update for at least 5 years.

It would depend on your use but in a lake that you are familiar with I would not be concerned.
