Nav App for Android Tab in the Med

What navigation apps are most commonly used on Android tablets in the Med? Is there anything cheaper than Navionics that works as well?

The Med charts in Navionics are really reasonable and detailed. Check out the detail here (all the dark lines are contour lines that you can turn up or down the detail inside the chart):

Check out the data available in the charts on the app before you buy it: Navionics Webapp
Scroll in and out to zoom in and out.

We use open CPN and have for the 3 years we have sailed the Med - as back up only. But each time we test them they are spot on.

I am having trouble locating mads for Spain and Canaries that will work in Open CPN. The program is nice and cheap.

You need to find someone running OpenCPN with CM93 charts and borrow the charts from them. Not sure where you are but try and ask around.

Ok charts I managed to download all the charts for OpenCPN. Turns out there are no names for places. Is there a way to get the names?

Re: Nav App for Android Tab in the Med

Several years ago I was given a disk containing "CM93 ed2 Jan 2010" charts. Is there a later version available from somewhere?
