Re: Missing 75´s.y. Lady Domina

Every one of us is a sailor. Some of us have blue water experience. I suspect every blue water sailor has a good idea how it would feel to be in real trouble in an endless expanse of water. Rather than concentrate on our differences, I ask each of you to help concentrate on the people whose lives are at risk as well as the families. Some of you have performed the duty of extra vigilance and note taking during passages, while others have provided keen insight as to how ocean currents in that area run while others have been doing hard research and making contacts with authorities. There is a little bit of a lot of people on this board, and despite a chihuahua snap once in awhile, I think the collective effort represents a lot of heart. It ain't over til it is over, as Tore told me, we don't know what happened to the LD, let's roll up our sleeves and get back to working as a team. Just a suggestion.

Why do I keep clicking on this thread? It descended into bizarre absurdity about 300 posts ago.

Re: Missing 75´s.y. Lady Domina

its still around because two people, post nonsense in order to bump it up . they would report missing clouds if it kept it high on the active list.

shame really , long since served it purpose

What I get from all this. Let someone know your plan. Uses you don't care then don't tell anyone what your doing. Which is what appears an entire crew did.
Seems like this is a failure to get real information. Some where the story is clearly told but it ain't here

Re: Missing 75´s.y. Lady Domina

Mods please close this thread. It's like a drug I know it's bad for me but I keep on coming back to it.
Start a new thread when/ if they find her. Anything worthwhile has been said and debated 10 TIMES over.
Hoping for the best for all who sailed on her.
Regards
Paul

Yes, I agree its absurd. Trying to figure out of a boat is lost by the color of a sofa!!! Jeez, but its fun to read. If the OP was so concerned by the stupidity of the skipper why did he not stop him putting to sea. I smell a Norwegian troll here ( get it?

If one has real concerns about the value, or lack, of this thread perhaps it would be more effective to report to a moderator. Constantly complaining or asking the Mods in the thread itself to come and close it is disruptive, inneffective and takes away from those who are constructively participating.

Re: Missing 75´s.y. Lady Domina

Last contact with LD was on 2nd/3rd May, 48 days ago. No way that was another Lady Domina, surely there can't be two people in the Caribbean with such bad taste in names! We don't even know that was the date of departure, in fact we know pretty much nothing about the boat apart from a load of tosh from someone who has such a capacity for reading too much in to things that he thinks a floating sofa is a vital piece in the jigsaw.

It's a long voyage, especially in a tub like the LD. Not beyond the bounds of possibility that she's still out there. If not, well, the Atlantic is pretty big and very deep, nothing we can do about that. Any useful information in this thread has been eclipsed by the useless conjecture from the OP and others, and the only meaningful lead of the VHF contact was dismissed by our hyper-experienced OP as being a boat with, if I remember rightly, a 'different number'. I give up.

Re: Missing 75´s.y. Lady Domina

Since there is no new news of late and this thread risks going off topic, the mods have decided to close it.
