Maxsea TZ - Rip-Off Britain ?

I like the look of the Maxsea Time Zero software. If I log on to the UK site I can but it for £629 or about $950.

In the US from Foruno the same product complete with all North american charts is $450 or about half price.

Why is this? Is it another case of Rip Off Britian? Madness! I certainly wont be buying from the UK.

On another matter regarding Maxsea....is there any way to have a repeater of the PC screen in the cockpit when running Maxsea? Are there any plotters etc that are compatable? If so what is the cheapest solution?

Many thanks.

John

Make sure you're comparing the exact same software. We sell MSTZ for much less than you're "US from Furuno" price - so the difference is even more than what you think it is.

There are 2 products - one that is a stand alone software navigation product and one that is meant to integrate into NavNet3D. In addition, the US version comes with US charts and the UK version comes with UK charts. The UK charts have a higher price than the generally free/low cost US NOAA charts.

It might also be that there is something additional being charged. But just make sure you're comparing the same things.

Thanks Jeffry

The UK store is here and as far as I can see this is for the "Entry Level" MSTZ:

MaxSea

If you sell it for less that $450 you may get a sale after I visit the Southampton Boat show in Sept! You should target the UK for your sales as a download is a download wherever it comes from!

Over here we have a saying "Rip Off Britain" as so many things from the around the world are always charged at a premium here. We seem to pay 50% more for everything here compared to other places... even Europe.

Can you connect a (cheap!) plotter to the PC, and see the maxsea on it?
