MaxSea settings problem!!

After a couple of days of reflection and research I have come to the
conclusion that GPS and AIS are working BUT DO NOT DISPLAY all the time!!
Have had laptop on overnight and AIS alarm started working !!
Stopped laptop and restarted and left overnight and now NO ALARM ??
the boats it sees are blue and green and not red as usual, in the details
of these boats it doesn't tell the distance to the boat, whereas it sees
it's coordinates and mine !!
So I have come to the conclusion that there is something wrong with the
settings, allthough I have tried those to, for instance the collision alarm
I have run out of ideas, anybody have a clue?? I don't suppose it is
doing this because we are on the dry!

Re: MaxSea settings problem!!

I've gotten really good customer support from MaxSea in France.

Selby Bay, South River, Chesapeake Bay, USA.

Re: MaxSea settings problem!!

Do you have an internet connection on that machine, perhaps your seeing ais info online?

What version of MaxSea?

Maxsea menu > connections ; any use? Look at the nmea viewer and look for incoming data.

Are you conected to nmea 0182 or a N2K network?

As the OP said tech support from MaxSea is excellent.
