Maptech and Wine

Has anyone been able to get the Maptech disc to run under WINE?

The chart kits are way out of date. I'd like to see what's on the disc.

Re: Maptech and Wine

No need to use wine if you just want to know what's on the disk. Just mount the disk something like this
$ sudo mount -o loop /tmp/file.iso /mnt/iso

Well, I was hoping to get some of it to run-- I'd like to see if it can help with updating the charts.

Why not install VirtualBox and then install Windoze in a virtual environment. I have not had any issues running apps in this configuration. ( I have not tried Maptech) . Of course, you do need a windoze license / install disk.

I've been running Rose Point software's Coastal Explorer (the people who wrote Maptech's software) on a WinXP I made under Virtual box on both Linux (Ubuntu and Mint) and OS X for three or four years now. Extremely stable on Linux, somewhat less so on OS X...
