MacENC Purchase

Is there any disadvantage to purchasing MacENC from Navsoftware.com, which is a lower price and includes ENC and Raster charts, rather than directly from MacENC?

It is a great system, does everything that one needs without being overly complicated. Has been rock solid for the several years that i've been using it.

I've just stumbled on a bit of Mac shareware that makes it even better – RedScreen. My only complaint about MacENC is that it has not been possible to dim my MacBook sufficiently at night. (It is really a problem with the Mac and not MacENC.) RedScreen solves the problem brilliantly (pun intended). RedScreen

For automatically/manually turning the screen darker and redder (warmer) at night:

Redshift « jonls devblog - linux

F.lux: software to make your life better - windows
