When I first started cruising the virtual Great Loop on my Flight Sim program (FSX), I was following my progress on a program that would show my boats location on
Google Earth. Since this did not give me
water depth, I went looking for a
marine GPS that I could connect to my FSX. I found Seaclear II for my
Laptop and also
Marine Navigator app for my S5
phone. And since US
charts are free, I can now follow my progress on one or both.
In order to increase the realism factor to my virtual world, I can also use these
GPS and
charts to locate the Buoys in my scenery files on FSX. My main problem right now is that when I get to the Canadian portion, there are no free RNC’s.
Since I am not using these for the real world, I don’t need the latest version of these charts. This is why I am
posting today to see if there is anybody that might still have some older version of RNC files for the St Laurence River from
Lake Ontario to Sorel, then down to Lac Champlain. If you do and you are willing to share these with me, you can either respond to this post, or send me a private message.
