Is BuoyWeather Really Worth it ?

Or in this day and age of high res, full color, smart phones, and mobile internet, you can just get the same info elsewhere for free?

Also, their iPhone app seems to have almost all bad reviews.

There was a time when buoyweather was all there was and it was pretty great. I paid for it for a while and made constant use of it.

Today there are alternatives. The current one I'm liking is Windfinder:

It's free including 7 or so days of forecast. Their iPhone app could use some work but the web site display is pretty good. I used it for all of 2009-2010 and think that it is every bit as good as buoyweather.

Thanks. Someone recommended that site a while ago, but I had no idea they had an app too.

The app...not so good. But I use the web site on my phone and it works well enough.
