iNavX (Android) - Navionics charts - need a little help :)

Hi all!

We recently bought iNavX (Pro) for Android (!) with this chart set: https://www.fugawi.com/store/product...23&taxon_id=88

So far so good, but we have a few issues we can't figure out: how depth is shown (most important issue) and why velocity and tracks showing are not working properly.

iNavX settings offers depth in feet, meters and fathom. Being Dutch, we have set it to show meters.

However, no matter what we do (we change the settings around, restart etc), what the Navionics chart shows is way more depth then our trusted paper charts and even our own depth sounder say ...

We've done the math thinking it may have been showing feet or fathoms no matter what you set it to, but nope.

Since the charts should be accurate, it's probably something we're missing / doing wrong. We use the settings located at More > Settings > Units >> meters. Is there another setting hiding somewhere maybe?

Secondly, the app has the option to show the Velocity Vector (iNavX FAQ - Chart Settings | iNavX). We can't get it to actually show at all.

Finally there's a Show Track option - this sometimes works. To use it, we have that setting active and set iNavX to track our route. Doing that will sometimes result in the track being drawn on the chart, and sometimes nothing happens

The iNavX help files helped us along, but apart from the basic manual, almost all information is for the iPad version, which is a lot more mature then the Android version. I've emailed Fugawi about the depth issues, but they simply replied with where to find the settings so that didn't help much

So far we've only used iNavX sailing our local waters, but we're planning a trip to the UK in a couple of weeks and it would be nice to be able to use it then ... (and yes, we also have the paper charts ).

Thanks for any help with this; we're too confused and technically challenged to figure this out for ourselves

Here's the paper chart:

And here's iNavX:

The depth where we anchored (red x marks the spot) is, according to both our depth sounder and the paper chart, around 5 meters.

App setting is in meters ...
