Re: How to connect an Maretron Scc 200 to an computer?

The Maretron owner's manual describes the wiring. Pins 5-8 on the compass carry TX +/- and RX +/-. Connecting it to a DB9 would follow the wiring practice of the device you are connecting it to - one common method for connecting to a PC would have the TX+ on pin 2 of the DB9, RX+ on pin 3 and the RX/TX- tied together and connected to pin 5 of the DB9. If connecting to a NMEA0183 device, then the RX lines would connect to the TX lines of the device and vice versa.

But you should check the wiring instructions of the equipment you are connecting it to.

Re: How to connect an Maretron Scc 200 to an computer?

THe problem was, that it's an normal shuttle pc with 2 com ports so wasn't any instructions on how to connect the scc 200 to it.

But thanks I'll try your explanation.

Do you know how to configure the scc 200 from the computer?

But I got an bigger problem, the Furuno SC-50 is sending an NMEA signal to the computer and the converter form NMEA to RS323 wasent working anymore, so cant get the heading input and gps location to the wassp computer anymore.
SO now I got nothing to do until I can get an new converter.
