How far are we away from 100% iPad / PC navigation?

Having run numerous compass calibrations using the ipad in conjunction with other sources, have to say its as good as any other handheld compass and better than a lot of them. Our analysis on ipad and iPhone showed around a few degrees of error. The ipad has a self calibration function that is very effective, actually better than the couple thousand dollar units I was calibrating. Still need to keep it away from external magnetic fields, but internals get canceled out.
