GPS without the screen

A while back I delivered a boat that had a GPS head unit with just the buttons and no screen,

This allowed one to purchase a cheap (yet large) LCD screen to use with it as a plotter.

For the life of me I cant remember what brand it was and the boat has since been sold to other owners in another country.

Any one have any ideas

Heres a pic

Why not just get a "”conventional” hand-held GPS, which can be used in the dingy, or for walking, since they have their own small display, buttons, etc?

They will at least display your lat/lon location, and may include many other features - depending on the software contained inside. Examples include the lower cost Garmin models like GPS12, GPS12XL and Etrex, or the 310 or 315 from Magellan. Many of these have a NMEA interface and an optional interface cable.

That cant be plugged into a big screen as a plotter though can it?

Also they don't work as well from inside a cabin, I know, I have a Garmin gps 12 now

The buttons are also much smaller and I would need a small to medium fortune worth of paper as well

This is specifically what I am after, I have seen it and used it and it worked a treat Plus the money was right

Thats what I'm chasing, not the exact brand, but certainly the style.

Coupled with a screen like this
BENQ T221W 22 inch WideScreen 5ms D-SUB DVI-D BLACK
Internet Price: $245.00
Retail Price: $255.00
Stock: Pre-Order
Model #: T221W-BL

Online Computer Store - Umart Online® Your one stop Computer Shop for computer parts, notebook and new system

That will make a kick arse plotter for not much cash.

Thanks mate, just need to find a few more brands although Si Tex one would think was a reputable crowd
