I have no fear of comets, rouge, mauve, or chartreuse.....
I am deathly afraid of Uranus though.

Ted,

Me too. Give us a break. If a comet gets us like, they say the dinosaurs did, bend over and kiss your ass good bye. Next thing Gore, the scientist will say we are causing an ice age by blocking the sun. It's a cyclical thing. And I'm a cynical old bastard.

When you say " bend over and kiss your ass good bye" you would be talking meteorically I trust?

Uh, so what should we do to prepare for that?

Re: GPS Will Save Us From Rouge Comets

My town is built on an old iron mine.
The magnetic variation is huge and somewhat random.
A compass is useless here.

To make matters worse, there is a huge locomative at the shore end of my marina...which I'm sure is magnetized and adding to the problem.

Navionics Webapp

Thank goodness for GPS.

Of course by the time that happens, we'll have other problems, like 24 hour sunlight from the expanding red giant that used to be our sun. Whether the fog from the boiling oceans will diffuse this is hard to tell.

But it's safe to say you still won't be allowed to anchor in Florida.

Re: GPS Will Save Us From Rouge Comets

By the time a "Rouge" comet hits, I suspect that ALL of Florida will be an anchorage.
