Hello Paul, yes opencpn 5.0 is working good with my former plugins up to date.. NV charts Oesenc pi using visual C++, squiddo, dashboard, grib,... Sorry to say that but sat2chart is the only one that gives me troubles to achieve my opencpn migration from v4. 8
I have few appli on this laptop used for sailing purpose :Qtvlm fine, tides in the world, Google Earth 1.7.2 and some win utilities like viewers
It's a basic xp insrallation with the las sp3 and updates availables at the time I gad reformated my drive ssd (2017)

I probably could fix it, its just a compile option to support XP but then we would have to get the OOrexx people to also support XP because right now their V5 doesn't.

The real problem is that hardly anyone has an XP system to test it and more importantly to troubleshoot any problems like just happened with you. It was a lot of work to setup a virtual machine and load it with XP.

XP was a great operating system but its time to let it rest in peace.

One user noticed that sometimes when you create a single mbtiles chart of the SasPlanet map, the bottom of the chart is cutoff. I created a fix which you can download from the following link.

Just replace the Sat2Chart.rex in your Sat2Chart.V2.0.0.0 directory with that one.

Seems a lot of users are getting a RC=97 when they try to run Sat2Chart. I found the problem was because they are using OORexx V4.2.0 and I added a statement that requires OORexx V5. So I took out that statement.
To fix it replace the Sat2Chart.rexx file with the one from the following link.

Also this fixes another problem: Up to now you could not use the View button to view mbtiles charts, now you can.

Without wading through all the posts has there been any mention of (I bet there has) or any intention of having a GE to kap program for us Linux users?

Add: I know about venturefarther but hoping for something better.

No there isn't except if you run Windows in a virtual machine.

I have a power hungry win7 gaming machine with 12tb of hard drives sitting unused in a cupboard onboard.
Sounds like I need to get a WiFi dongle and bring it back into service, get kaps, transfer to Linux laptop.

Yes, OpenCPN 5.0 does work on XP. It is the last version where I invested the suffering to achieve that though.

A few more fixes:
- Some Image editors like MSPaint and Snagit don't preserve the transparency of a file so that if you edit an mbtiles chart the data outside the borders is not transparent. Now Sat2Chart restores the transparency after the edit.

- If you edit a mbtiles chart the data does not follow the borders.

- the links to the saplanet.zip were corrupt.

I have tried a lot to get the new Sat2charts working on my Asus win10.
been using GE2KAP for years, been a fantastic companion sailing in South Pacific with bad charts.
But this time I am beaten.
Come up with Check.rex fault cant red?????

Your problem may be that you are OORexx V4.2. If so, uninstall it using the Control Panel/Programs and Features and then download and install V5 from this link:
