Re: Google Earth to BSB / KAP

I have uploaded a test version of GE2KAP to test the new functions for SasPlanet including tiling and creating charts for a path and polygon. You can get it here:

http://gdayii.ca/Downloads/Test_GE2KAP.V18.0.1.11.exe

Please read the Help SasPlant Support section on how to setup and use it.

Re: Google Earth to BSB / KAP

We have found a problem with v18.0.1.11 that sometimes you may get missing parts of the SasPlanet map when tiling or following a path or polygon.

Click on the following link to download the fix. Unzip the two files and replace GE2KAP.rex and GE2KAPFuncs.dll where you installed v18.0.1.11 The unzip password is: phiggins

Sorry no, but I have been told it will run under a virtual machine/box on Linux.

Re: Google Earth to BSB / KAP

Try it as a Kml. Had the kmz problem quite awhile.

KML doesn't fail the same way. It uses z18 like I told it; but instead of using the polygon I gave it; it uses the last path it saw.

In other words I created a path at z15 or 16 (resulting in 70+ charts). Next I tried the polygon that you see in the screen shots at Z18 . The the result was 350+ charts that followed the original path.

Also I don't understand the message "Calculating Charts required for New_Category MarshHarbor.KAP"

Re: Google Earth to BSB / KAP

David,

Not sure about the kml you used but the kmz file contains all your waypoints and one path. You likely exported everything from SasPlanet rather than just one path, its a bit tricky. Just select the path and use the small export icon at the top right in the placemark editor.

You can look at the KML file to see what it has in it with Notepad.

I will see if I can fix the KMZ. I'm using someone elses unzip and it stopped working many moons ago.

Paul,

You were correct. I didn't notice that the Export button at the bottom of the Placemarks Manager has a pulldown. I was exporting everything.

I created a polygon for Hopetown (very small file) tried it and got the following error.

Re: Google Earth to BSB / KAP

WdKester,

The following link has an unzip file with two files GE2KAP.rex and GE2KAPFuncs.dll unzip and replace files in current version. Unzip password is phiggins This should fix both the kml polygon problem created by SasPlanet and also allow you to use a kmz file.

Paul

WOW you are fast. It works with KML polygons now. I didn't try KMZ.

Any idea what's causing the grey spaces?
