Re: Google Earth to BSB / KAP
FWIW
I've dowloaded GE2KAP 9.6.2 and just pushed the ge2kap_pi.dll plugin into opencpn. So I'm using GE2KAP 9.6.1. with the 9.6.2 plugin, and it works fine with W7 32 bits...
BTW Many thanks for your most useful app... and a very happy new year...

Re: Google Earth to BSB / KAP
Mike,
You didn't send me a snapshot of the GE Tools...Options...3D View like the attached. And what version of GE are you running?
SailorF54,
What version of OpenCPN are you running on your Win7 32 Bit?

Re: Google Earth to BSB / KAP
SailorF54,
OK thanks, just as I thought. It seems my problem has nothing to do with 32bit/64 bit, instead it depends on the version of OpenCPN. I compile the my plugin on a System running the OpenCPN version 3.1.1206 but if I try to run it on a system running OpenCPN V3.02, it fails.
Anyone from the OpenCPN team reading this? Why?

Paul
Your latest plugin won't even display in the toolbox with O 3.0.2...

Nope, the one in Ge2kap 9.6.2...
The one in Ge2Kap 9.6.3 works fine with O 3.0.2 using Ge2kap 9.6.1...
(W7 32 bits)
The 9.6.3 plugin also works fine with O 3.1.1224 using Ge2kap 9.6.1...
(W7 32 bits)

Re: Google Earth to BSB / KAP
Yes I know, that is why I put back the old plugin in V9.6.3. There seems to be a downward compatibility issue with OpenCPN for the plugins. I'm waiting to see what the OpenCPN guys think.

Re: Google Earth to BSB / KAP

Re: Google Earth to BSB / KAP
Hi Paul
On several occasions, I've had GE2KAP fail on starting with Google Earth shut (with a view to overlay a GE pic and a small OpeCpn chart area)
The GE view is blurred and seem very much overzoomed.
If I cancel the chart, and start a new one without any change, the outcome is perfect
Here is the complete log of such a session (failure + success)
My 2 cents...
Not enough time given to GE to achieve proper level of zoom ???

I have had similar experiences due to a slow intenet connection. When first attempted, I believe GE puts the image it has collected into cache then at the next attempt it completes the image.
The fix is described in the GE2KAP Help file. Under 'Options File' is how to set the GE delay. Mine is at 2 seconds and seems to correct the problem at the expense of a slight delay in processing.
HTH
