Re: Google Earth to BSB / KAP
May be it is a Virtualbox problem, but with the same Virtualbox 4.1.6 (and same Google Earth 6.1) why is it working with Ge2kap v3.4.4 and not with the last version ?
I have made a lot of tries, snapshots are working well with all other softwares except Google Earth.
I don't think I have changed anything in the configuration of VB.

Re: Google Earth to BSB / KAP
I have several versions of GE2KAP saved in my Downloads folder:
v8 (with a download date of Sep 30)
v8.2.2 (dated Nov 16)
v9.0 (dated Dec 6)
If it helps to try to narrow down when the problem occurred, I can email.
PM me an email address. (if Paul thinks it would be helpful)

Re: Google Earth to BSB / KAP
mattyc, the oorexx site seems to down, try later.
jpiebrig,
Back in V3 of GE2KAP I simulated pressing the the Save AS on GE. Now I internally take a scren shot like your screenshot program does.
I searched on "linux virtual box screenshot transparency" and there seems to some issues but I couldn't find a fix but some suggested playing around with the options on GE. Have you tried changing "Graphics Mode" from DirectX to OpenGL or vice versa. Also try the changing some of the other settings on the 3D View Tab.

Re: Google Earth to BSB / KAP
Paul,
Thanks a lot ! I have try to play with a lot of things, transparency, etc. I have been on VB website and read a lot of problems about screenshots.
Finally, as you told me, I try to play with the configuration of the VB.
And I have found : if you have 3D acceleration checked, screenshots don't work with GE. Just need to click on 2D acceleration and it is working now.
Thanks for the help.

Re: Google Earth to BSB / KAP
I don't know what is wrong with that oorexx site. If it doesn't come up by tomorrow, I'll put a copy of it on my site.

Re: Google Earth to BSB / KAP
I am trying to correct some out of kilter kap charts using GE2BSB and have a problem if I need to rotate the chart. Everything works fine except for charts I attempt to rotate to align with GE. I get the following error:
"if rotation <>0 then do -" "bad arithmetric conversion"
Am I doing something wrong, or is this the way it works - ie, no chart rotation?

Re: Google Earth to BSB / KAP
Yes you are not suppose to rotate the image or resize it, just move it to align with GE. But you shouldn't get a bad arithmetic error. I will modify the code to give a proper message.

Re: Google Earth to BSB / KAP
But I have been resizing it and everything is working fine except rotating. If you aren't suppose to resize or rotate, why are those control handles there?
In case there is any confusion, what I am doing is taking kap charts that were made in the days of sextants (or something less precise than now) and "fitting" them to GE to make them correct. Sometimes this means changing their dimensions because the lat/long were off on the original.

Re: Google Earth to BSB / KAP
Mark,
The controls are not part of GE2KAP, they belong to Google earth.
I would have my doubts of the accurracy of the chart produced if you rotate or resize ithe image. Have you checked them when you resize them? I was actually thinking of putting a check in to prevent resizing. The rotate check is already there by a put in a "-" that caused the arithmetic error.

Re: Google Earth to BSB / KAP
Well, the idea was to check them by sailing around the areas. I know the old charts are inaccurate, so will see what the new ones look like. It won't be for a while, though.

Re: Google Earth to BSB / KAP
Mark,
Could you send me one of those charts and the calibration data. My email is in the Help "Problems".
