Paul,
No, I think you have all of the bases covered and I can work with it the way it is.

Re: Google Earth to BSB / KAP
Eh I do have something. Is it possible for the program to use the mapcal "#" field data instead of inserting GE9999? When displaying a chart in openCPN this value is shown as "ID:"
I assume the field is meant for the chart number. GE2KAP overwrites the input value with GE9999.

Re: Google Earth to BSB / KAP
I'll have to think about that Surveyor. Long ago when I first wrote GE2KAP I think there was some reason I put GE9999 in that field but red wine has long ago destroyed those brain cells that rembered why I put it there. But your request does make sense.

Re: Google Earth to BSB / KAP
Surveyor,
I have a new version that fixes your GE9999 problem. Would you like to test it? If so, please send an email to me: phiggins()gmn-usa.com (replace () with you know what).
This version also changes/fixes:
- Supports Transverse Mercator and Polyconic charts
- Adds new language files for French and updated for German
- expands fields for French
- Puts in correct NU, PR and PP parameters
- Checks accuracy of calibration
- When overlaying on image on GE it crops image to outside border points without need for calibration points at UR and LL.
Thanks and I won't call you whiney crybaby anymore if you test it.

This version icludes a Help button.
It has a feature that allows you to correct charts/images with bad datum.

Re: Google Earth to BSB / KAP
One user found a problem where it wasn't recognizing non WGS84 datums like WGS72. Also updated the French Help.
Newest version is GE2KAP.V8.0.1 at:

Re: Google Earth to BSB / KAP
Wow....27 pages to dig through..
My request is for a better help section on simply how to use the program and getting the most out of the functionality.
I think the help section could be dumbded down a little for us who are not too technical.
I know I cant be the only one. With so many revisions, Its hard to know where to look for answers.
Would someone mind simply making a K.I.S.S. tutorial using the newest version(s) and show us step by step how the various overlays work and how they are done?
I would really like to try it out.
Cheers!

Re: Google Earth to BSB / KAP
Boy first everyone complains there is no Help..
Anyway just read the Help ... Running Ge2KAP ..Starting GE2KAP
That is the simplest scenario. Then you can try more complicated things later like overlaying an image.
