I'm looking at the GFS and NAM forecasts on passageweather.com, and it seems there is a meaningful difference in the
forecast for my area over the next 72 hours. (We're planning to
head from Manasquan Inlet to Atlantic City or Cape May.)
I have heard colloquially that NAM is smaller scale and is supposed to be more accurate on/near land, but after googling around I haven't found anywhere that gives an authoritative answer on why you should use it over GFS in those situations. Does anyone have a reference or good explanation?
Thx,
