Garmin BlueChart - ActiveCaptain - Navionics

I attempted to upgrade my Garmin BlueChart charts and possibly purchase another and discovered that they discontinued the app. I quickly downloaded the entire chart I purchased years ago before they discontinue support for it as well. I see they now have a new Garmin ActiveCaptain app, but I haven't checked it out yet.

I did see that Garmin also bought out Navionics. I have the iPhone version of Navionics, but not the HD version for the iPad. Garmin stated that they'll continue supporting customers of Navionics, but what does that mean? I don't want to buy new charts with so much up in the air.

So, the question is, does anyone have any news about the direction Garmin and Navionics are going?

I’ll take a swag that Navionics will be the App Garmin keeps, or they would have killed it already?
Just a swag though.
I don’t know if they see Apps as hurting their plotter Sales, if so, then kill both?
