The preloaded maps are base maps I think, I think they may be updated from time to time, but doubt it's free.
G2 Vision cards are neat, but not so sure they are really necessary especially compared to their price.
Whole navigation software packages can be had for much less than a G2 Vision card, best deal I've found was on Ebay, some seller in Canada

Yea found $189 card on eBay for $97

Question..do they sell an extention cable for the garmin power cable so I can have enough cable to get to the circuit breaker, or do I have to extend the wires....

Best way is to extend the existing cable leads. On my 740s the power cable also has 12 additional wires bundled in it you probably will not use.

Head down to your local marine store and buy some marine duplex wire.

Yes. That way you could run the alarm to anywhere on the boat you like.

Anyone knows how to create waypoints with proximity alarm in 740S? and setup waypoints to display only icons, no names?
