Gaps in CM93 Chart Coverage

Hi all,
Just downloaded the 2011 cm93 set, after discovering that the 2009 set has coverage gaps in areas we are headed to next. For example 3 to 7 S from 161 to 170 w is blank. Areas just east of the southern Marshall islants also. Comparing to my Int 505 and 504 charts there is not much there, but its not hazard free either. I was just applying the latest chart corrections for our path, and if there is no chart, now what?
Anyone else run into this?
Any suggestions?
Thanks and smooth seas...

Re: Gaps in CM93 Chart Coverage

Even CMap's current non-pirated commercially bought charts have significant gaps in coverage in certain areas. Your option is to use other charting products that do not have those gaps.

New Zealand electronic (free download) charts have ocean chart coverage south of the Marshall Islands. They work in OpenCPN. I have Maxsea and OpenCPN and seem to use OpenCPN the most. One is the backup for the other.

Thanks for that info. Might you have a link to where the NZ charts are available, please?
Cheers, Robert

NZMariner - Official Raster Navigational Charts (RNCs) | Land Information New Zealand (LINZ) - Toit

The OpenCPN site has many sources for free charts.

The link in my signature has a bunch, too, but I haven't been keeping it up as well since OpenCPN has been doing it.
