Furuno Chartplotter Very Hot

My chart plotter is really hot on the top of the unit. I have the brilliance turned up to the highest setting. I have a similar unit at the nav station which isn't hot at all. Is this normal?

could be all about the brilliance, try turning it down for a few hours when you are at a dock and don't need to see it.
