Freya Rauscher's Belize Waypoints

Can anyone help me interpret her GPS waypoints? For example she lists N 16 31.16', W 88 21.54' as the wypt for the N entrance to Placencia harbor. Is this degrees, mins, secs? That's not what it looks like. My handheld permits 3 digits after the decimal point, or the old degrees, minutes seconds format. So is her 16 31.16 16 31.016 or 16 31.160 or 16 31m 16s???

Also what is the appropriate GPS map datum for this area? I guessed NAD 27 Mexico?

Those waypoints are degrees and minutes. The minutes are to two decimals .

Oh and I'm pretty sure she gives all the waypoints using WGS84 datum.

I was in Placentia a few months ago. Don't recommend checking out in Big Creek, they'll rip you off.

Which would equate to North 16 degrees, 31 minuets, 9.6 seconds.

Big creek is far better than monkey river town though, and more convenient to placencia too

Ooops!
There’s 60 seconds in a minute; and a plié (were I to know what that is) might be better than a minuet (were I to know what that is).

Sorry Gord, I couldn't help myself; a minuet is a formal French dance from the 1600's while a plie is a ballet move ... just havin' fun.
