Re: Free Routing Software

Yes probably you didn't take the correct source tree. It's located at https://qtvlm.svn.sourceforge.net/sv...tvlm/trunk/src. Last stable rev is #1296 but you can probably safely take the very last one.

I have added BS, HDG, CNM and DNM in the kml export. It will be in the next released. See attached example.

Re: Free Routing Software

HDG=Heading
CNM=Course to Next Mark (i.e. the cap ortho to the next POI in our case)
DNM=Distance to Next Mark

HDG and CNM might be different, for instance if the next mark lies full up-wind.

Re: Free Routing Software

1303 works fine as long as you import the maps. Does not come with an install script for linux. Two initial observations. The select box does not disappear after the gribs have been downloaded which would be a nice feature. Secondly, you have to move the compass rose out of the way to scroll zoom to a specific location otherwise the zoom feature zooms to the center of the compass rose if you select, "center map here".

Nice program works pretty good, not fully tested yet. As time allows an install script would allow for linux packages to be build.

Many thanks for this and your help.

Re: Free Routing Software

For the compass you can hide it by pressing "C". I actually never use it. I use the polar alone from time to time (press "L"). You can see what you can hide/show and the respective shortcuts from qtVlm menu.

Re: Free Routing Software

Shortcuts dont work on linux on 1303....no combination of shift, ctrl, or alt and L brings up a menu. Same for C, its probably a linux thing.

Re: Free Routing Software

I'm pretty sure it works on Linux too. Click somewhere on the map first to give the focus too the scene and then press "C". If it does not work for instance try to hide/show the compass "manually" from the menu just to be sure you can see it.

maitai..

Re your #109.

Of course,I should have guessed. I have passed the info on tho the developer of OruxMaps for implementation. Will this extra info also be available in the copy/paste version?

For some reason, your attached .kml sample did not work in OruxMaps, all the present format does. Perhaps because it contains more info?

Re: Free Routing Software

The same routine does the file export and the clipboard export, there is no difference.

I don't know why my sample is not accepted by OruxMaps. It loads in GE as you can check by yourself

Re: Free Routing Software

maitai..

When I import your new test route to qtVlm the route is not showing, only 2 waypoints.
Also doing a route edit show nothing in the files.

It imported and pasted fine to OCPN and also now OruxMaps
Would it be possible to also include the DISTANCE betwen the waypoints as
displayed in your Route edit/Route details?

The creator of OruxMaps thank you for adding the boat direction and speed.

Re: Free Routing Software

Tore,
The route does not import well in qtVlm because 1) your boat is not mine (polar), 2) your grib is outdated or does not cover the zone. 3) many other reasons (but logical )

DNM = Distance to Next Mark (it says kts in the sample I sent but it is fixed to NM now)

Re: Free Routing Software

Arf...

There is no ctrl/shift/tab/alt involved in the "C", "L", etc. Just press "C".

Another question: can you move a POI or your boat by pressing shift and right-click and drag?
