A patch for 3.4.3 has been released, to corrects some bugs in grib an routing

Warning: From tomorrow access to grib files from zygrib server will be forbidden for version less than qtVlm 3.4.3, for security reasons. You have to upgrade to 3.4.3 if you want to be able to download zygrib's files from qtVlm.

Is there a way to import a route made in Open CPN, or anywhere else, and have QTvlm make a routing from it?

Right now you make a routing in QTvlm and import it into OpenCPN and you are going over ledges! It would be nice to designate safe passage waypoint and have it calculate from those.

You can import many route formats in qtVlm. You can also paste a route inside (ctrl-v).

If you want to avoid a particular zone you can also set-up barriers that the routing module will not be allowed to cross.

Right but there are no charts that show hazards/details on Qlvtm so you are in the dark when setting up those barriers. Or is there a way to get a raster or enc chart view?

You can load and show almost whatever kap file (raster) in qtVlm... menu qtVlm->Kap file management.

You know what would go a long way on this software is a zoom select so you could highlight an area and zoom to it. I have a sluggish older computer and it doesn't handle the panning and zooming too well.

Just press ctrl and drag a zone on the map, that should do the trick Or select a zone (shift-drag) and click on "zoom-on-zone"

So why, when I try to do a routing that is upwind of my current location, do I get the message "sorry impossible to use waypoint. Try with another Grib." I thought it was able to calculate with tacks and jibes. I am using an A35 polar. with a real boat without an active gps signal.
