Can you tell us more? VLM or real-boat mode? What are you exactly trying to do when it crashes?

Matai, as I mentioned earlier I use your router mainly for Sailonline, VR and some of my own real world sailing in Australia.

I have Windows 7 on a 64 bit machine. A friend is doing roughly the same with it, but he has a 32 bit machine.

After installing into the same folder as the previous QtVlm, we have both been experiencing crashes. They are almost exclusively occurring the moment I press the Boat menu, or if not then, when pressing an option within the Boat menu. For example, just then when I went to double check my boat settings, it crashed.

Routing, loading and unloading gribs, saving routes, editing routes, etc, no problems at all. But 75% of visits to the Boat menu results in a crash.

Are you using qtVLm in real-boat mode or VLM-boat mode?

Matai, I have done that anyway, and I'll report back how it goes. So far so good. New install, up and running again.

Sad to report, same crashing, always when opening Boat menu, and/or sub-menus within Boat.

That's really weird, and I cannot reproduce that here...

Can you quit qtVLm, then in qtVlm directory delete boatAcc.dat, qtVlm.ini and poi.dat. Restart qtvlm (you will have to reconfigure your boat, etc), and tell me if this fixed the problem?

Matai, I have done exactly as you suggested. I'm afraid the problem is still there and identical to what it was earlier.

I am not able to reproduce your problem and you and your friend seem to be the only users with such an issue.
In some rare cases, I have been reported issues with very old computers running XP. For that purpose, I have uploaded a special compilation of 3.4.1 that so far is doing well on these machines. I know your are on windows 7, but can you give it a try anyway?

The file is at the usual location (QtVlm Download), left column. Unzip it in an empty directory and tell us if you still have the same problem...

I am pleased to let you know the European database of tidal streams are now also available in the old .grib format, parallel with the new .grb2 format on this URL:ftp://ftp.bsh.de/Stroemungsvorhersagen/

Unfortunately,the directory does not seem accessible at the moment but a notice has been sent to the developers so I am sure it will be corrected shortly.
