Fiji To Philippines route and time

I want to sail from Fiji to Manila, needing to arrive in June. My research says the end of April and May are best to minimize typhoon risk but am getting conflicting information.
Does anyone have a definitive answer or first hand experience?

I am leaning towards the route via the Solomons simply to look around and enjoy, but via the Torres straight would work as well. My goal is smooth, and safe. If a bit of sightseeing is thrown in that is a bonous.

Threre seems no shortage of weather prediction services and would appreciate a recommendation.

You'll really want to get here in Manila before May. But you'll still have to watch the weather. The area you'll be crossing has the warmest water on earth and stirs up all kinds of turbulence. Check out the history on this site.>>> Hurricane Archive | Weather Underground

Re: Fiji To Philippines route and time

We did Gizo Solomons to Palau 3 years ago in the May June time frame. It was the first time in over 20 years of cruising I used a weather router, worse thing I could have done. We were vectored to areas of contrary wind and current, ships were coming at us. We finally bailed out and went with VPP predictions and had light or no wind but what wind we had was favorable
Passage took 23 days thanks to loosing a week because of the NZ weather router.

Jimmy Cornell has a good reference book>>> World Cruising Routes (7th revised edition) by Jimmy Cornell

Then there are the monthly pilot charts>>>> Atlas of Pilot Charts - Covering the Major Oceans of the World

Or, depending on you broadband >>>> Maritime Safety Information
