Hi all. Has anyone sailed from South Africa (Durban) to East coast of Australia (Bundaberg)? I am inexperienced practically but may join crew on 75ft Maxi with planned departure first week February. The skipper wants to sail to Albany on southern tip of Western Australia first. Is there a good reason for this (meaning is this the recommended/established route?) as it seems that heading south to +- 40 degrees, then east to =- 105 degrees, then direct to Bass Straight is feasible and of course much shorter distance? Any related experience, advice and suggestions will be most welcome. Thank you.
