current maps

cannot find (on the net) quite what i am looking for. A tidal current map (with the little arrows) of the Chesapeake Bay both real time and predictions. your help would b greatly appreciated.

OpenCPN will display tides and current arrows at the current time. For predicted times you'd probably need a bought nav software. I use TZ Navigator and it allows the time to be set for tides and currents.
There is a new NOAA site: https://nowcoast.noaa.gov/
You can overlay many things and set transparency of different layers. Both raster and vector charts can be displayed together. Don't know about current arrows.
Picture is Columbia River showing overlaid charts.
At the bottom is a time slider.

Actually OpenCPN otcurrents plugin permits planning and setting of date and time to see currents. So does opencpn tides and currents if you go to the graphic, but it is not as quick and easy for dates way in the future.
Otcurrents is much faster/easier in that respect.
