Charts for West Coast of Yucatan
We are planning to take our IP32 to a small harbor on the west coast of Yucatan. Yucalpeten is just west of Progreso, and has, I believe, 8 small marinas, several of which are quite nice. I'm looking for the best charts of the area, having found nothing so far with any detail. Any advice much appreciated

Re: Charts for West Coast of Yucatan
I have charts that I created with GE2KAP for the whole Caribbean area. You can download them by drilling down fron this link:

You could also create more detailed one with GE2KAP. If you like I'll do it for you and add them to that link.

Re: Charts for West Coast of Yucatan
The small scale charts for that area are in the Inter_Country folder and are called Veracruz to Cancun. I just created large scale charts for the Progreso area and put them in the Mexico folder.

Havent been in there, so cant vouch for their accuracy, but Navionics also covers.

Re: Charts for West Coast of Yucatan
The charts that I referenced in my link has GE, ArGIS and Navionics which are accurate.

Thanks Paul. I'll need more than I have right now to get in to Yucalpeten.
Lots of shallow water around there and no BoatUS!!

Re: Charts for West Coast of Yucatan
I have created more charts from Veracuz to Cancun at a higher resolution and put them in the Mexcio folder.

Re: Charts for West Coast of Yucatan
Thanks Belize sailor, I'll proceed carefully and check all options for accuracy. There are several nice short trips departing from Yucalpeten, but there's also plenty of thin water if you don't know the approach.

Yes, there are. I want to spend a season soon exploring more of the Yucatan coast. Getting out to Alacranes atoll is part of that plan. So, please update us here on how your trip goes.

Re: Charts for West Coast of Yucatan
I've now added a lot more charts of the Yucatan from Texas to Isla Mujeres with many large scale charts of various harbors and bays along the way. See the link above.
