c map service

I like to give credit where credit is due.
I have had a problem with my c map card which I purchased from California and mailed to my address in Australia. (because it was half price)
When I installed it my Northstar 12 inch chartplotter (also purchased from California at half price to units sold in Australia) The cmap card didn't work.
The Cmap agent in Australia initially would not honor the warranty because I had purchased the unit in the USA.

I emailed Cmap USA explained the problem and also mentioned that I was a member of "cruisers forum".
I had a new chip within 24 hours and it works grest.

Congratulations!

I wonder if this counts as a kudos to C-Map for standing behind their product, or to Cruisers Forum as a respected and well-read site for cruisers? Let's assume both!

I also bought a C-map card from the USA for my Navman Plotter, for the same reason (1/2 the price of local retailers). It worked fine. I guess you were unlucky. Good to hear C-map looked after you though.
