Basic Novice Navigation

Hi, i am an experienced river (speed boat) user. However a boat which i recently sold had no navgational aids.

I am in the process of trading up ( probably to a Bayliner 2855) and have identified a boat in Portsmouth which i am interested in. I would want to mmor it in Marlow and am considering how to transport it to its new home. What sort ofvadvice could anybody provide on the viability of self piloting, V's skipper hire V's road transportation.

Sorry for the very basic question.

Thanks
